'Meader' is a self-fertilizing variety (parthenocarpic) that produces seedless fruits if the flowers are not pollinated.
It usually grows up to 6m in height.
It has excellent decorative properties.
The dark green leaves are attractive throughout the growing season before turning to exquisite shades of red and yellow in autumn.
Fruits the size of an apricot (up to 4cm in diameter) ripen in autumn.
'Meader' was named after the late Elwin Meader of the University of New Hampshire.
