An ornamental cultivar growing to a height of 2-3 m Pomegranate probably originates from the island of Socotra off the coast of Somalia, from where it was spread throughout the world. It blooms on this year's and older wood, it bears fruit only on older wood in the third to sixth year. It grows to a height of 2-3 meters. The variety Maxima Rubra is an ornamental cultivar with full deep orange-red flowers. It first blooms in the months of May to July, and blooms again in September. This variety does not produce any fruit. Pomegranate grows well in sandy and rocky soil, in a warm place, in our country it is grown in a flower pot as a low bush. In winter, it needs vegetative rest: a maximum of 6°C, a minimum of -10°C, it must drop its leaves to bloom again. It is not frost-resistant, so it is recommended to hide it for the winter.
