An ornamental pomegranate cultivar with full white and red splashed flowers
Pomegranate probably originates from the island of Socotra off the coast of Somalia, from where it was spread throughout the world. It blooms on this year's and older wood, it bears fruit only on older wood in the third to sixth year.
The Legrelleae variety is a full-flowering ornamental cultivar with white-red splashed flowers, blooming from June to July.
The fruits are inconspicuous without economic significance.
Pomegranate grows well in sandy and rocky soil, in a warm place, in our country it is grown in a flowerpot as a low bush (1.5 - 4.5 m). In winter, it needs vegetative rest: a maximum of 6°C, a minimum of -10°C, it must shed its leaves to bloom again.
