The delicious blue-red fruits taste similar to blueberries and lingonberries in June to July. 

Also very ornamental with flowers and autumn leaves. 

Alder-leaved fly ash (Amelanchier alnifolia) `Smoky' - a very fruitful popular Canadian variety. 

Height 3 - 4.5 m. 

Discovered in Canada in 1918, introduced in agriculture in 1952. 

One of the most cultivated fruit varieties in Canada. 

The fruits are sweet, about 14 mm in diameter. 

The variety bears fruit very abundantly.
