- Baya® Marisa is another gem among apple trees with attractive red flesh. This is a German variety from 2005, whose predecessor was the Weirouge variety from the beginning of the 20th century. Baya® Marisa comes from Munich's Bayerisches Obstzentrum and was bred by Dr. Michael Neumüller.
- It bears medium-sized, round apples with deep red, shiny skin and dark pink flesh with white marbling. The taste is very refreshing, pleasantly sweet and sour, and thanks to the high amount of antioxidants, it ranks among the healthiest varieties. It ripens already at the end of September and can be consumed immediately after picking, or stored until approximately the end of December. It blooms with dark pink, fragrant flowers. Leaves sprout burgundy red and mature to dark green with a burgundy tinge. It grows rather weakly, there is no need to cut or shape it. Suitable rootstocks are M9 for dwarfs and M26 for medium-sized ones.
