The fruit is around 160g, the skin is orange when ripe, the flesh is orange, it ripens at the beginning of October. Fertility is high, you get up to 30-40 kg of fruit from an adult tree. Frost resistant down to -20°C, frost protection is recommended at lower temperatures. It resists attack by pests and fungal diseases, no chemical protection is necessary during vegetation. Cultivation is possible in all wine regions of Slovakia.
  • Origin.
It comes from China. It is a deciduous tree with a spherical crown reaching a height of up to 15 m. The leaves are large and smooth. In autumn, they turn orange. They fall off before the fruit ripens. The flowers bloom in June, so they escape the spring frost. Female flowers are larger than male flowers. They grow in threes from leaf axils. It is grown in almost every subtropical country. They have developed frost resistance down to -20°C, so we don't have to put them inside for the winter, but we recommend covering them for the winter.
