- Decaisnea fargesii - This interesting tree comes from western China.
- It is a taller shrub growing to approximately 3 m in height.
- The strong, upright, few-branched stems are remotely reminiscent of Aralia in stature, but without thorns.
- The shoots are bare, with a bluish frost. The leaves are pinnate and, given the overall size of the bush, remarkably large, growing to sizes of 40-80 cm. In autumn, they turn golden yellow.
- The yellowish-green flowers are pointed and bell-shaped. It blooms at the end of May and during June.
- More interesting than the unusual size of the leaves are the exotic-looking metallic blue, frosted, fleshy, cylindrical fruits about 10 cm long.
- The fruits remain on the bushes even after the leaves have fallen, and with their unusual color and appearance they form a striking element that catches everyone's attention.
- The habitat requires protection from cold winds and late frosts. It grows well in direct sunlight, but also tolerates partial shade.
- It is suited to soils with a more acidic reaction, humus, fresh to moist, sandy-clay, well supplied with nutrients. plants 0.3m tall in a 1l pot
