Cornelian cherry (Cornus Mas) is a sprawling shrub or tree growing to a height of approximately 4 meters. - Yellow bisexual flowers develop in March to April, sometimes even earlier, before the leaves appear.
- It is a thermophilic and drought-loving plant that grows in warmer regions of Europe, southern Asia, Asia Minor and the Balkans.
- It grows well on stony, shallow and drying soils on neutral or alkaline substrates.
- It is an old cultivated plant, probably not native to the Czech Republic.
