  • It comes from Japan, a sprawling, rather low-growing tree, 
  • resistant to a number of diseases including gum disease and citrus canker, said to be cold hardy down to -12°C. 
  • Fruits are small (3-3.5 cm), weight from 30-40 g, flattened, reminiscent of 'Yuzu' mandarin or 'Kabosu' variety, 
  • fruit dark orange, thin, easy to peel, with essential oils. 
  • The flesh is orange, soft, aromatic, has 10 segments and few seeds. 
  • It is harvested in late summer and can be stored for a long time similar to 'Kabosu'. 
  • 'Tanenashi sudachi' is probably just a clone.
